This gritty high concept film is part social commentary and part artistic experimentation. Two groups of film makers were actually given the same material to work with and both shot and became actors in each others' movies. The premise of the story they're both trying to tell mirrors this process, since the plot of the film revolves around two rival groups of film makers who are using LA's hip-hop community as a landscape for their divergent projects. When one group steals the other's material, issues of white culture coopting inner city trends are raised in this clever and challenging work.
