The gap between the world of the living and that of the spirits is getting smaller in this chilling second sequel to the Pang Brothers' THE EYE. While specters from dimensions beyond Earth have long been able to momentarily seethe their way into the senses and perceptions of a select few, there exists one matter-less plane of existence--the Rite of Eight--in which the dead and the living may mingle freely. Those who have passed into this void, however, have yet to return. Could the ancient underwater ruins in which grieving widow Ching's photographer husband died be linked to the Rite of Eight? The Pangs deliver yet another ghost story brimming with originality and pathos, adding to a popular franchise that has already been adapted to Hollywood with the 2008 Jessica Alba-starring remake, THE EYE.
