I'm not really happy with this movie. The concept is powerful and it is a story that needs to be told. Beyonce was Beyonce in this movie. She wasn't Etta. I thought she played the role VERY well, probably her best work so far...but all through the movie I kept singin "if you like it then you shoulda put a ring on it!" instead of,"aaaaaat laaaaast my looooove has come along...". Mos Def was Oscar-worthy and I hope he gets a nod for this one. Adrian Brody was surprisingly convincing and I thought he was going to suck. Thank God he didn't. The movie was very cliche...it didn't MOVE me like I thought it would.
